At the very least, they could make the link to the Comedy Network TAKE YOU TO THE RIGHT CLIP. Seriously, even if they can't work out the branding and all that (which, btw, is a great idea), they could at least make the experience functional.

Sorry, but this logic doesn't hold up to scrutiny. There's no money involved! The embed don't feature ads, pre-rolls, or anything! Comedy Central loses nothing by allowing playback in other countries. In fact, it has everything to gain.

The embeds themselves are ads for the show; blocking playback in other countries effectively undermines any viral/network effect that might result from exposing the show to new viewers. Which, in turn, undermines either Comedy Central's direct revenues (through advertising during programs shown on Comedy Central) or indirect revenues (licensing revenues from partners like The Comedy Network, whose advertising revenue depends on viewership).

Actually, it's not that simple. The Comedy Network is owned by CTV, and Comedy Central by Viacom. Comedy Central sells the content to The Comedy Network for distribution in Canada (for exclusive rights, I presume). For your 'branding' idea to work, the two companies have to come up with an agreement to work together and more importantly, a $$$ sharing model.

Ain't gonna happen. More likely scenario: Some time in the future, Comedy Central will revoke exclusive rights to The Comedy Network, and then kill them on the internet. Or... the other way around? :)
